Sea Gulls, Sunshine and sand

We pulled into Rockport, close to Corpus. Met friends here I had been e-mailing for 2 years. Pen pals, as it were. Met Neil on the Good Sam Forum. He and his wife, Bennie took us to a killer Mexican place here.
We are staying at the Sanddollar Resort here in Rockport, very nice with moss hanging off the trees. My Montana was too tall, so Neil had to get on the roof and hold the branches away from the Sat dish and A/C for me, (Nice pen pal)
We will head for South Padre in 4 days or so.
Take care fellow travellers.

Cool! It was pretty nice, today, supposed to be even better tomorrow, enjoy!
Have you two been to the Lexington? I was in the Brown Water Navy in 'Nam, always wanted to be on a Carrier, Sue and I will visit, maybe tomorrow. Minkind, if you are on the road around 10:00 or 11:00 in the morning, stop by, I'll be working on a flag pole holder for a giant flagpole mounted to the Monte. I found a welder, muffler shop, barber, and a great Mexican restaurant today. Bert, wish you were closer. Sue and I are headed off Friday to Padre. How long will you guys be around?

Just the title of your thread makes me want to be there...here we are stuck in Minnesota and the coldest part of the winter will soon be upon us...

I long for the day I can take my rig south for the winter...

We spent at least three hours on the Lady Lex last Sun...I sure hope today's young people understand what the GIs in previous generations have done for the USA...and them.

We are off to Kemah tomorrow...I'm a sailor and that's sailboat country!

Sue and I went to the Lex yesterday, sure brought back memories, some good many bad. The smell alone took me back to my shipboard life.
I agree wholeheartedly about appreciation for our armed services men and women.
I thank all of you MOC service members who served and have families that are serving, or have served our great country.
Minkid, the Lex is on the 'Port' side of the road just prior to going over the high bridge into Corpus from our location.
It will consume a $20.00 bill plus change, for the tour, depending on your age.

Ozz-
Check out the Big Fisherman on TX 188 about 5 miles south of Rockport, half way to Aransas Pass. Great seafood, a $1.75 all you can eat chicken fried steak on Tuesdays at lunch. We were there last week.

When you are touring the Lexington, don't miss the film "Operation Red Flag" - super film! Hope they are still showing it - it's been about 2 years since we were there -
