Leak above Fireplace

I had a leak above the fireplace in the rear slide. I had a repair guy look at it and he told me that there was no Butyl tape behind the gutter when it was installed. He redid both sides and added Butyl tape. Leak is gone. Has anyone experience this? Hard to believe it was missed in manufacturing. Rig is a 2017 RL3660.

I had to look at your floor plan to get a feel for which slide you are having leak issues. I assume the black trim along the top of the slide is the one the RV Tech had to reinstall over butyl tape. That piece actually secures the roof membrane to the slide sides IIRC. All seams and joints on slides need to be watched regularly and attended to.

It was the gutter along the main body of the camper. Both sides. Not the slide. The water came in from above the Fireplace.
