Rusty screws
We're down on the coast, and everything that can will rust here. All the screw heads (especially on the driver's side) have rusted. I recently saw some stainless screws with painted heads at Lowe's, but they were rather pricey. I started searching on the internet, and found identical screws on boltdepot.com at a much better price. So, I ordered 100 3/4" #8 and 100 1" ones, all white (25 bucks including shipping). I have put several in, but you need to keep a sharp drill bit handy. I've had three or four that were apparently over torqued at the factory. The head came off, but the break in the screw was already rusty.
Not sure anyone else has the rust problem, but just wanted to make all aware of a supply source. They were very prompt in shipment also.

When I dropped part of the belly pan, I noticed the screws were somewhat rusty. I replaced them with stainless steel screws and they are pricey.

The first week I had my unit I was wiping some silicone smears off one of the slides when two screw heads just popped off. Are you drilling them out or using a screw extractor bit?

I do the same, i.e., replace any rusty screw I find with a stainless replacement.

I've been drilling them out. Small bit, than larger. I just had to buy more bits. I've used lots of screw extractors, but those #8 screws are a bit small for those. They're a PITA.

I have replaced all the exterior screws with stainless. A little pricey, but looks much better and the stainless are easier to remove with age.

I also have replaced just about all the exterier screws with stainless steel screws.I was kind of surprized mine being a 2001 unit that they all weren`t rusty.

My neighbour changed all the screws in his trailer 6 months after it was purchased. He showed me most of the screws and at least half were all rusty already. He painted the stainless screws to match by pushing the screws into a large cardboard sheet and then painted them.
