Washer overflow
We used our washer for the first time yesterday, and it appears that the drain hose is not draining. The connections are in the closet in the cap. The platform the washer sits on got wet as well as the closet carpet and a little outside the closet. Since it was a small load there wasn’t as much water as there could had been. Used towels to soak up and turned on fans. I don’t think the connectors have been used before. Was there a valve or something I should have opened?

I don’t think there is a waste valve to open for it to drain to a tank. Based on what I have read - there is no consistency between yearly production and model based for whether the washer drains to gray tank or black tank. My washer is hooked to the half bath black tank.

We had the same issue at one time, make sure your main gray tank is not full, it will back up thru the washer drain, do not trust your tank level sensors.

If it's never been used could be the check/backflow valve stuck or installed wrong, had the same issue with the first try on mine.

Where would I find the backflow valve?

Not exactly sure, behind the washer. Guessing you have to pull it out to check.
Since the dealer installed mine I brought it back to have them fix it.

No doubt your washing machine drain has a HepvO installed instead of the traditional P-trap and it's installed backwards, thus causing no water to drain.

The HEPVO (waterless P trap) valve is under the shelf to the right of the washer. It's the white thing in the picture.
Picture taken with CAP removed.

Over the years here on the forum we have learned that some washers are plumbed to the grey tank (most common I think), some are plumbed to the black tank, and some are plumbed direct to the sewer outlet pipe bypassing the tanks altogether. No rhyme or reason as to why. If it goes to a tank, and that tank is full, water will overflow. If it goes direct to the outlet and you are not connected to sewer hookups and have the outlet capped, it will overflow.
Were your tanks full? Were you connected to sewer?

Reading this thread, I am not sure if your issues has been resolved.
As an RV Tech and Montana 5th Wheeler owner, our washer drain is connected directly to the sink/shower gray tank.
Per guidance from Keystone, they required the gray tank discharge valve be open while the washer is operating. If this does not occur, water will backup into the RV via several sources, sink, washer, and shower. In the newer Montana's, the washer discharge drain-pipe is plumbed into the closest gray water tank and NOT the black water tank.
With that said, recommend contacting the RV company who installed your washer to see where they plumbed the washer discharge pipe.
