Help with New Toilet Installation

We bought a new Dometic 320 toilet and my hubby is going to install it tomorrow. The water supply line is too tall to connect to the new toilet so he has to use a stainless flexible water line attached to the existing pex line and toilet. The problem is the 1/2" stainless fitting keeps cross threading on the toilet's 1/2 male fitting (factory installed fitting).

Suggestions? I sure hope so! I want my new toilet! LOL
