New Wheel Bad Weld

So, happy I got my G614s on the new trailer. Came home, trailer in driveway for a week. Got ready to leave on a trip Sunday, so checked air pressure. All tires good but one which was at 74 lbs. So aired tire back up and off to commercial Goodyear dealer where I just purchased the tires.
Long story short, after submerging tire discovered slow leak from weld where a wheel spoke was attached to the inside of the rim. You might ask, OK, put on spare rim. Being the cheapskate that I am, I only bought four g614s because the spare rim is only rated for 80PSI.
Off to dealer, who pulled a rim off a new rig on the lot (does not match my two color rims but is a 110 rim) and then back to Goodyear dealer who made the swap so we can go on our trip. RV dealer is ordering a new rim. Goodyear dealer said besides slow leak, rim could have failed due to faulty weld. Assume it is a Tredit rim, but RV dealer did not know.

I was always of the opinion that when replacing with G614's that I would leave the spare alone in order to save an extra $320-$340. When Lazy Days switched the tires out on the new rig prior to delivery I thought I would only get 4, but they actually did all 5. Now I have to check my spare rim to see if it is rated for 110 pounds or not.

Murphy's law "if it can happen it will". IMHO, I have always had a matching spare. " An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".

Our 13 3402 Big Sky came with 5 G6-14's. I was pleasantly surprised that it did.

Good luck to catch it before you departed on your trip.
