Next time the plastic flex things break (they probably will) you should look up the hinge fix in the forum many of us have adopted, where you make a straight cut of the cracked part, then install a large hinge to relieve the bending. It might be easy enough for you to do yourself. The hardest part was the drilling the metal to install the hinges to it's frame part.

I found mine cracked after about three years but since the hinge fix, using the existing plastic, they have held over the last 3 years with NO signs of potential problems. Works great!
