We have a 2011 3150, but we have not had any leaks. I am assuming you are talking about the Galley Tank?

you're talking about the pull valve for which gray water????? the main gray pull valve is in the basement next to black water and the other is the kitchen sink and it is on same side by the dual tires. this is how it was on my 2010 3150

You
ll have to pull the underbelly off to find exactly where the tank and the valve is located. I've had my shower and black tank underbelly off, but not the kitchen tank side. But the tank is located under the kitchen somewhere.

Chapman,
I would say the valve would be near the drain pipe at the driver side rear tire where the pipe comes out of the belly cover.
I don't know for sure but that is my best guess. That point is forward of the pull handle for the galley tank.

My tank had to be replaced because it was leaking after only about 3 days of use. Replaced this past spring with my extended warranty.

I have replaced valves several times. Not hard, nut and bolt installation. I just replaced my front gray and black, and I had to remove the underbelly, but only the front section. Two crossbars, and some strip supports, and came down easily. You will likely have to drop the underbelly, and if rod pull, vice cable pull, the valve will be close to the pull handle. If cable pull, you may have to search a little. Measure before you buy the replacement, as they come in a couple of sizes.

Hi, we are very recent owners of a "lightly" used 2012 3150 Monty, and woke up on this, our maiden voyage to find the gray tanks indicating full and water sitting in the two kitchen sinks. I pulled the "Gray Tank" handle located in next to the Black Tank handle, and drained the Gray Tank. The second Gray Tank indicator on the panel still says Full, and the other one says empty.

So, first question: are there two gray water tanks ? The spec sheet in the coach says only one gray tank, but the panel has level indicators for Gray 1 and Gray 2.
If there is a second Gray Tank, where is the pull handle for the discharge valve ?
If there is only one Gray Tank, has anyone encountered slow draining, and what was the cure ?

Lastly, due to an operator error, we also ended up with an overflowing toilet [clean water only !] and flooded the basement and underbelly covering. Is it difficult to remove a few of the retaining screws on the underbelly covering, to release the trapped water ?

I appreciate all of the help we have received to date from this forum - the Monty owners are a very generous group, and we are very grateful for all of the support !

Eric, as others stated on here. On drivers side behind the rear wheel on the frame is the pull handle for the galley tank. Also have some extra bolts/screws that attach the underbelly, a lot will be hard to reuse. Hope this helps some.

Very helpful, as has been the case since joining this forum ! DW and I breathed a great sigh of relief when I found the oddly-placed pull handle for the second gray tank. All is well on that front. It is tempting to see about a longer cable and relocating the Gray Tank 2 handle in the same place as the Black Tank and Gray Tank # 1 reside.

I think I will look at replacing any rusted/seized fasteners with stainless, to avoid future issues.

Thanks again for the helpful information.

I don't like the cable pulls, and replaced all four of ours with direct pull threaded rod. You can place your pull handles just about anywhere you want, understanding that you may have to do some minor rework of the plumbing itself to make it work. It has been my experience, longer the cable, more chance for problems.

Mike,
Re: the pull rods versus cable-operated valves. On another brand of fifth wheel, we replaced the cables with rods, without changing out the valves, which was a relief. In fact, the manufacturer's use of cables was baffling, as the valves were so close that 2' rods did the trick !
On our new (to us) 2012 Monty 3150RL, I will try cable lubing first, for the black and forward gray tanks, but if that proves to be a limited cure for tough opening/closing, will go the full replacement route with Valterras, as all seem to recommend. I haven't decided yet if that will include direct pull rods or cables, as I cannot see the tanks and cables due to the Chloroplast covering, of course.
Your decision to go the direct pull route will weigh in my decision for sure !
Thanks for the posting.
