Storage doors damage

I have had three RV's over the last few years. On all of them at some time the thin aluminum frame on the bottom of the storage door that has a rubber seal around it gets bent out of shape by draging some thing heavy in or out of the compartment. I have been thinking about screwing a strip of wood on the inside of the frame on the bottom to protect the frame. Anyone done anything to protect the frame?

You could buy a piece of quarter round from Lowes or Home Depot that might solve your problem.

Yes, same issue and we did a similar fix. I would suggest using PVC trim board rather than wood. Holds up better to moisture and looks great without having to paint. I just ripped a piece to fit into each storage area and screwed into the bottom of the storage area. When I ripped the material on the table saw, I rounded off the inside to ensure nothing gets caught on it. .. I actually use silicon caulk between the material and side to ensure no movement, but that was probably overkill ...
