Something is living in my table

My dinning room table is infested with some kind of wood bore. At first I thought the table had a lot of sawdust left over from the manufacturing process. Id clean it up and after a while it would reappear. Well this weekend I looked closer and there are tiny little holes in the main pillar of the table. Has anyone else had this problem?? Any suggestions?? The unit is still under warranty.

Sounds like Wood Beatles. Recommend you get the table out of the rig and call keystone Customer Service!

It has been known to happen in the cabinet doors, but this is the first I have heard of it in a table. Keystone should give you a new table.

Spray it with an insect killer. I had that problem on an wood item and just sprayed it once with Raid. Did the trick.

Having worked for Terminix for several years, I would say, from your description, it very well could be Powder Post Beetles (look them up on the internet). If that's what it is, bug spray won't do the job.
You will need an exterminator or a replacement, before they get into something else in your rig!!!
They get into wood before it is used in manufacturing something.
If the holes in your wood look about the size of pin holes, you probably should act very soon.

I totally agree and had these in our 2955RL in the cabinet door...we removed the door asap! Remove your table asap! Contact Keystone and your dealer and let them know. Also check your entire rv ..sometimes you will actually find the beetle and if so keep for evidence for Keystone.

It sounds like powder post beetles to me also.

The heat from kiln drying usually kills them but not always.

This came up a couple of years ago as well -- had several people with Powder Post Beetles in their tables and chairs. Keystone replaced both but you need to get it done STAT!! Look in the forum archives for more posts.

I called the customer relations dept. @ Keystone about my problem and was told that it was an enviromental problem and Keystone could not do anything about it. One of my chairs must have 200 holes(not kidding) in it and a pile of sawdust on the carpet. I am removing the table and chairs and from the camper and trying to figure out what to do. Any suggestions?

This site shows how to recognize the powder post beetle and control them.

I would call your dealer and have your dealer look at the table and chair. From there he can call Keystone and describe the problem. I first called Keystone and they told me that b/c I took the camper to a state where they have the beetles it was our problem. Then I called my dealer and emailed pictures of the damage. My dealer then called Keystone and hashed it out with them. I also emailed pictures of the damage into Keystone. Our dealer did a great job with Keystone.
