Unfortunately, most dealers and manufactures work on the "produce or bring in at minimum cost to them and sell at maximum market will bear" That leaves good tires off the list.

One of the first upgrades I did and haven't looked back. Yes you need to buy new rims but the safety margin is well worth it. Too many manufacturers put on the minimum to meet spec.

Yep the Dealer also told me just as many people do not care or just do not know about the ST E rated tire issue OR do not want to spend the extra money for the G614 option so they let the customer decide if that is important to them,my buddy with a SOB that is almost as heavy as mine is not worried about it and neither are bunch of other Montana owners I have met on the road with ST E's... SOOOO whatcha gonna do?? I see it as a problem and took care of it as have many on this Forum

Jimmy- Every-time a large unit passes me on Interstate in excess of 70 mph I shake my head and wonder if he is running ST's. Sometimes farther down the interstate I get the answer when he is on side of road with blowout.

Are the G114's that much less expensive to justify changing the wheels compared to just upgrading to G614's?

Probably not, but the G114s are a commerical grade trailer tire and has much more usage and avilability than the pretty much RV use G614s. At least that is my understanding. We went with them as we're running 8K Mor/ryde IS and wanted tires with equal or greater capacity.
