Fiver With a WHAAAT !!!
My wife and I went to the Northeast RV Show this past February in Springfield Mass. The Show was held at the "Big E" We saw and walked through a fifth wheel that had a drop down aluminum deck! This deck was built into the side of the unit, droped down, and was accessable through sliding doors in the kitchen area. (it was not a park unit). It also had aluminum railings and the awning came out over it. REALLY COOL! Now here is the problem. I never took photos and I never remembered what the unit was called or the make of it . Anyone here seen or heard of it?

I just checked out Open Roads from Ozz's post about the front door. Some of the models have a deck. Maybe that was what you were looking at. Pretty cool.

It's Open Range RV. Maybe someday it will be an option on Montanas. Thanks.

Saw one of the Open Range units with the deck when we were in Colorado in June. Nice looking feature. Don't know about the rest of it. Couple were sitting on the deck watching the world go by almost every day.

Yep... Open range. Unfortunatly we didnt like the floor plan that the aluminum deck was attached to.

We had seen SOB with a deck at he Tampa show last year. The deck was on the curb side and was not as wide (did not stick out as far) as this one. It would actually fit in a campsite better than than this one would, and seems to me it had no need for supports underneath. Do not remember the brand...

Saw an add for one of these things in Trailer Life mag...while it looks like it would be a pretty handy addition, it could be a real problem in some of the older campgrounds which have narrow sites. If you can't lower the deck, does not look like you could get into your rv????

The entry door is separate from the deck. There is a separate door for the deck access. Leaving the deck up would just block your view from the dining table area.

When the deck is up it looks like it would block a lot of windows and light.

Looks like a great idea, however, as in many of the older parks there may not be enough room to get that thing down. I have been in some that you couldn't even get the awning out, let alone a deck. I think one would be limiting the number of parks you could get into comfortably. We all have been to some parks like that.
