Dometic 1350 4 door

Has anyone with the Dometic 1350 4 door refrig. had a problem with the refrig. doors coming open while traveling. Doors were locked and came unlocked and opened.
Seems to happen when the unit twists like going over a speed bump at an angle and etc,
How did you cure the problem?

I will second your problem. I thought it was just us. We have 1 door that only opens but its 1 door to many. We actually took it to the repair shop for a converter replacement. While it was there we asked them to check out the opening refrig door. They where of no help. The issue they said is the plate between the door is a poor design and moves quite freely with pressure. We have not solved our issue. He mentioned drilling a small hole where the lock hits the plate so the little piece of plastic would slip through it but honestly we have not tried it, afraid it will make things worse. Will watch this thread to see what others have done.

Actually there is an easy fix for the problem. We had the same problem with ours and called Dometic. They said to take it to our dealer and have a washer/spacer installed on the lower swivel pin. This raises the door for a better seal of the door. It took the dealer about 5 minutes since they were familier with this problem. The service center knows of this also and can advise your dealer on this simple fix. Of note, the newer units are now coming repaired from the supplier.

Thanks Emmel, I will look into that. I was at Keystone service Center last week and ask Darrell about this and he said he knew nothing to do but call Dometic to see if they had a fix.
