Ft . Desoto Park

We just got back from Ft. Desoto in Tampa, Fl. What a great cg. Would highly recommend it. Lots of great biking trails, great beach and beautiful campsites. Lots of room for the Montana.

My daughter recently moved to Tampa. While down there we drove through Ft. Desoto and like you say it is a beautiful park. It will definitely be a destination for us soon.

Was it difficult to get reservation to Fort Desota. Visited this beautiful park many years ago and always said that one day we would be back to camp. Was there ample room for your Montana?

It was not difficult to get reservations online. We went during spring break and reserved about 4 months in advance. However, later, when we looked at the sites, the park was full. You can actually see your site on the website. We stayed in site 205, and it was very adequate for the Montana. All of the sites in this section seemed like they would accomodate us. Our site was very nice and right on the bay. The only site that I liked better than ours was site 200. As I said before, very nice park and I would highly recommend it.

Hey guys,
we stayed at Ft. Desoto also. Loved the CG, sites, location, fishing... The only down side is during the summer the black ants were awful. I've got to say the ants actually ran us off and ended up going to Disney CG. We put seven dust around all the tires, jacks, hose and power cord. The only thing we didn't notice was the palm from touching our roof. when we woke in the morning it was an infestation. Good luck. Steve

We were in Fla. in Jan. on a brief trip without Monty . On our way to Englewood from the Tampa airport we looked at this beautiful campground and we were so very impressed. Unfortunately it is too far from our family who are in Englewood for us to stay there for more than a few days.
