Microwave Overheating

We have an 09 Monty 3075. It has a Sylvania convection microwave which is not properly vented and overheats after a short time when using the convection function and shuts down. It restarts in a few minutes but not before the DW overheats. I believe later models have a proper vent system. I am presently trying to affix a 110V fan to the rear of the oven to try to improve the cooling. It may also be possible to drill vent holes to tap into the existing range hood vent just below. Any suggestions would be appreciated especially if you have experienced this problem.

We have the Sylvania convection microwave oven also in our 2009 3605. The instructions are two complicated for my brain. I can make it work on "convection" and on "microwave" but can't make the "bake" cycle work.

I'm rather new to the oven as we just bought our rig in May so don't really know if mine is overheating or not.

I have the same Montana/year/sylvania that you do. Mine does not overheat. The fan runs for a while when we are done cooking with it. We don't use the convection feature very often.

I would check for some kind of packing material that was not removed. Take the oven right out to see. If you have a reputable dealer that you trust, they might have some ideas for you to try.

Good luck with it.
