Vent Covers

The bathroom vent cover on my 2955 RL needs to be replaced. I'm not quite sure what MFG it is as Camping World lists several depending upon the type of hinge. Does anyone out there know exactly what cover I need to buy and then, how does it install?

Montana uses one with a hinge that is secured by "twisting" the "tail" on the hinge. The hinge just slides in to the part that is permanent on the 5th wheel. A very easy replacement once getting comfortable on the roof. The cover should cost about 13 to 17 dollars. Most RV parts shops have them in stock cheaper than CW. The following link shows the hinge type. Ventline is the one that fit mine. The second link shows the hinge in another view. The best way is to go up and take off the present vent and bring it in with you. (on a day without rain of course).

The dealer will know for sure, but I was told everything in the last XX years uses the new Ventline. Camco now has a stronger cover with a lifetime warranty for about $5 more than the ones on your 5W. I seem to scrape one or two off each year with the places I go, so "lifetime" is pretty good for me. So far they are holding up.

Once you've changed one, the job only takes a couple of minutes.
