Santa Fe, NM - Trailer Ranch RV "Resort"

We are in Space T-15 until the 12th of May. If you are in the vicinity, stop by. Sante Fe is one neat town.....lots to see and do. We (yes, "we"!!)took a SW cooking class yesterday, along with 25 other folks from all over the US, and both of us enjoyed it greatly...and what a fine meal it turned out to be!!

Relative to Trailer Life (T/L) ratings: This is an OK place, but certainly not up to the ratings shown it T/L. I would give it at best, "7"s for facilities and "ambiance". Good, friendly management, adequate room for the rig, convenient bus service to the downtown area, but definitely not at "Resort" status. Guess I'll have to be more discerning in intrepretting those T/L ratings. Relative to anything else we have seen around here it is a 8 or 9, but certainly not in relation to the rest of the RV Parks around the US.

Welcome to NM and glad you are enjoying yourselves! I don't see us coming up to Santa Fe but if you decide to drive down to Albuq send us an email and maybe we could hook up. We met you all in IN in '03 at the trailer repair place (name escapes me at the moment).

Have a great visit.
Safe travels.

PJ, like you we find the use of "resort" in the park name is often very questionable and sometimes downright fraudulent. We've learned to ignore that term. Also the TL ratings. Apparently those folks have a different idea than we do about what is good and what isn't. But we still use them as at least an indicator of how bad a park may be.

One of these days we want to spend some time in the Santa Fe area.

Ragdoll, sorry we missed you. We spent three nights in Albuquerque back in early March while we waited out the snowstorm to the west and north. And got a little snow ourselves. We were west of town, up on the mesa. We stayed 3 nights in the same place last October, also. Sorry we didn't know you are there. We would have enjoyed meeting you folks.

If you get the chance to get up to Santa Fe, PJ and Nan are some of the nicest folks you'll ever meet. We count them among our good friends.

Steve: Santa Fe has rapidly become one of our favorite places. Next only to New Orleans re food, great sightseeing/history, incredible weather, at least for now, and 3rd largest center for art in the US...just behind NYC and San Francisco, but a heck of a lot more accessable and compact! Just walked Canyon Road yesterday...took 5 hours and we didn't come close to seeing it all, and it is only 3/4 mile long!! Lots of little courtyards and alleyways with multiple galleries in them. All variety of "art" everywhere....and we didn't even get to Muesum Hill, which has 4? 5? world class museums on it. We did visit 3 major museums (2 art, 1 historical) in the Plaza area last week. The 3 major ones are free on Fri PM from 5 to 8. Such a deal!!

Definite stopover place for your travels....2 weeks doesn't even scratch it.

Colorado Springs for 10 days next, leaving here Friday.

Best Regards,

Steve, remember that freak storm well. We have had 60 MPH winds this afternoon and night - so dusty you couldn't see the valley (we are on the east side of town) or mountains. I know the area where you stayed. Sorry we missed you all and maybe one of these days we will be meet on the road or here.
PJ and Nan, so glad you are enjoying Santa Fe. Have a safe trip up to C. Springs.

We are usually home mid Oct to June or so - if anyone is passing through or coming this way just send us an email.

Safe travels.
