Palm Springs Area

As much as we love the San Diego area, it is time for us to move on soon. We only have one more week and we will be leaving for the Palm Springs area. We plan on going to Joshua Tree National Park for sure and it is a must that we get to Indian Wells but are looking for suggestions on a campground. Of course we love to get suggestions of things to see also and you guys haven't steered us wrong yet. Hugs to you all.

The Emerald Desert RV park is located at Cook & Frank Sinatra, has a golf course and much more. The park will be torn down and condos will be built there next year. It's a little close to the railroad tracks, but is a nice clean park. The Outdoor Resorts RV park is a little more pricey but quieter, it's in Cathederal City. There are other parks in the Desert Hot Springs area that are cheaper but farther away from everything. I hope this helps.

Helen - Try Indian Wells RV Park at 47-340 Jefferson St, Indio, CA 92201. Tel: (800) 789-0895. It's a little pricey on a nightly basis ($40) but it might be less than Emerald Desert, and certainly a lot quieter. They have nice, long pull-thrus (if available) and beautiful green grass - no weeds! Pool, wi-fi, etc. It's close to a Super Wal-Mart and lots of other shopping, and not too far from Palm Springs.

Like Bill said, there are lots of other parks in the area, but this is the only one I've stayed in that doesn't require a membership.
