Mystery lump on roof
We have a 2003 Montana 3670RL. I just paid $185 to have the exterior inspected. I was told everything looked OK. I went up the ladder to take an uneducated look and about 2 feet in from the back is something that aparently got covered up some time ago. I looked inside to see if maybe there was an opening inside one of the back cabinets but there isn't. Can anybody guess what might be under all the tape and recomend what I should do?

That is one of two attic vents. The other is near the front of the RV. They have covers, yours is obviously missing, commonly referred to as Mushroom Vent Caps",
Take a look at THIS.

The first thing I would do is ask for my money back.
Is tha a big hole in your roof? If it is you need to get it patched.

Roof doesn’t look so good either. Between the tape kluge and roof appearance, I would think poorly maintained fiver. The vent cap replacement is no big deal, but how much water has seeped in?

Me too! You paid for an inspection and they didn't tell you about that?!

Thanks Carl. You are right as usual.
I would still ask for my money back.

Carl nailed it with the attic vent. Also as 1retired06 stated, that roof is in very poor shape from what I can see. It looks like they took expanding foam to fill in the skylight vent also. I definitely would be getting ahold of the "gentleman" or "lady" that did your exterior inspection because they did not go up on the roof or they would have reported what you found and what several of us have seen from your photo. There's no way the inspection would have missed the taped over cover or the expanding foam or the condition that roof is in IF they actually did a thorough inspection. Ask for your money back.
Oh, and welcome to the Forum!

I have to agree. That's not going to be the only issue you'll find. That type of maintenance isn't a one time thing.
