New to us

We bought a 2004 Montana 2955 about a month ago and am loving it. Pull it with a 2008 Chevy Duramax 2500HD.

We are Jim (the Fisherman) and Sandie. We are full-timers and have been for three years. Love the life style more than ever. When we bought the Montana, my wife graciously told me I could turn the fiver into a fishing cabin with wheels. So we're slowly redecorating.

We retired from Billings, MT. Have four sons (three mine, one ours) spread out over the country - one in VA, one in NM, two in MT.

Sure am looking forward to meeting up with other Montana owners and learning more tricks of the unit.

Great to have you as a part of our family. The rally is next week and last I saw there were still a couple of spots left, you might want to check and come join us.

Welcome!! You will meet great people and get the best advice for your new Monty here. We have a 2006 2955RL and go out for 5 months at a time. It is a great floorplan and I call it my happy place! If you can get to the rally on the 21st in Goshen, IN at the Elkhart Fair Grounds you will make lots of friends and get some great info and deals on 5er stuff. Happy trails!

Just got my "new to me" '06 2955 last January. so far I am loving it. I just took out the big clunky 27" TV and replace it with a 26" flat screen. I also just finished building an extension for the counter. If we are preparing something big or have dishes drying on one side of the sink, counter space is severely restricted. My extension is 18" long and about 15 wide. If I can figure out how to post pictures to the website, I will post them soon.

Welcome aboard Jim and Sandie! Since your'e on the roll fulltiming, you should try and make the Fall Rally in Goshen, IN (Check the postings for the Fall Rally here in the MOC Forum) ! I thnk there is still two or three slots open. Also consider the Central Plains Regional Rally in July of 2012 here in Nebraska. It's a small rally but we have a lot of fun and a lot of good eats too!If you're ever around Omaha drop us a line and we'll get together and have some good Nebraska beef or something! We always like meeting MOC members when they are in the area!

Wayne-- Are you going to post any pictures of the counter extension you've just finished? We all like to see mods we can use too!

I just uploaded the pictures to the forum in the "additions and improvements area" The link even works to get to the pictures, I surprised myself getting that right on the first try.

Jim and Sandie,
Glad to see you made it into the MOC. I think you will like it here. There is anything and everything you might need to know about any Montana rig! I visited your blog and love the picture of the Doxies. They would make a good photo to put in your SIGNATURE block. Welcome and hope to meet you out on the road one of these days. Happy Trails, Dennis and Mary Kay.

Well we definitely aren't going to make the Rally in Goshen. We're still stuck in our son's driveway here in Billings, MT. We got the front jacks to work - thanks everybody. Got the king pin lowered. Not sure what else is on Jim's list of must dos before we can leave. I'm hoping we can pull out sometime next week. Our VA son lives in Stafford. Hoping we can get out to see him before too long. Jim also has relatives in Roanoke. We lived in Northern VA (Springfield) before we moved out to MT so we have lots of friends out there too. I'm still trying to figure out how to add a picture here. I am really challenged about such things. But that's one of the things I'm going to work on this week.

Thanks again for the warm welcome. Can hardly wait to meet up with everybody. Is there somewhere we can post where we are to see if anybody else is around?

Sandie
