new member from Texas

Hello from the Lone Star state.
My wife and I really enjoy our 2018 Montana HC 305RL. We’ve owned (4) 5th wheels prior to this one.
We primarily travel TX, NM, & CO; but we’re about ready to expand our search of [new] favorite places.
Nice forum! I’ve lurked the halls, here, for quite some time, and thought it was about time to come aboard.

maybe we’ll see some of you out there

Welcome from a Texas neighbor. Well, 375 miles but still in Texas.

Welcome to MOC and out of the shadows. Give TN a shot some time. Lots of nice places to hike, fish or ride. Some great hidden water falls.

Thanks

Thank you for the welcome.
We’ve owned more than a few 5’ers prior to this one—and this one is enjoyable.

Yesterday I called Dometic and they are sending me (2) new thermostat covers. The lower thermostat ¡freaks out! when any buttons are activated (ie: temp adjust/mode adjust). The only way it will behave is to leave the cover off, altogether, which looks cruddy. I sure hope the cover(s) resolve the issue...
I’ve read, here, that Dometic is all too familiar with the problem, and the guy that answered my call @ Dometic sure thought this would cure our woes.

Other than that, we are faring pretty well (so far)

One more thing: I’m going to install MorRyde fold-down steps. Instead of the toolbox (to go in the hole where fold-outs steps were), has anyone tried to insert a piece of J-trim? I’d love to get my hands on circa ~32” of that trim! If anyone has about that much, please holler at me.

See y’all out there
