Question Water heater limit switch

I think my limit switch/thermostat may be bad. Gets almost steaming hot sometimes and apparently then trips the limit switch.
However when I tried at 2 or 3 dealers to find the switch, they all seem to be inverted. Here is a pic:

The black in the center of the white thing is the reset button. Note the wire on the right side. My switch has the wire on the other side. I need the button on the top with the wires attaching to the left. As you can see from the pic, if I rotate the switch to put button on top, the wire leads would attach on the right and there isn't room nor long enough wires to reach that side.
Has anyone had to replace there switch? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

There are *TWO* limit switches under the black cover. The left one is for the electric side and the right one is for the 12V propane side (as I recall). They are not interchangeable. The tabs on the left one point right and the tabs on the right one point left. Your RV parts guy should ensure you get the correct one, especially if you bring in the failing one

How about this one.

The above one is for 12v. You didn't say if the one you want is for propane (12vdc) or the one for the 120 vac element.

You don't say which water heater you have, 6, 10, or 12, but for the larger newer units, the 120 volt part number is 232306, and the 12 volt part number is 232282, and the 120 volt part is mounted to the left when looking at the unit from the outside. Our rig is a 2012 model, and the 120 volt part was recalled due to being poorly made by a vendor. The reset button on the bad switches was red, with the good ones being gray. I replaced ours a little over a year after we bought the rig when it failed, and it was not a problem up till I replaced the water heater last year due to a tank leak.

I think I was looking at the wrong one because the right one seemed to reset the switch when it first went out, so I assumed it was the 120 V one. Now I am thinking I found the right switch but was looking at the 12V side.
Thanks everyone.
