Black water tank back flow check valve
I had the back flow check valve replaced by a dealer last year while the trailer was in for other service. The plastic check valve is now leaking again, so I want to just get rid of it. Is there any harm in just replacing the valve with a braided hose, or something like it.
Has anyone replaced the check valve with a hose or piece of curved water line pipe or pvc? I assume the black tank water flush line is isolated from the rest of the water lines. I use an old garden hose connected to the black water tank sprayer water line, so if there is back flow my fresh water hose doesn't get contaminated.
Appreciate your thoughts.

I took mine out and replaced it with a piece of pex tubing. When I use the black tank flush I have a backflow preventer like restaurants and campgrounds use on outdoor faucets that I use at the blank tank flush inlet in the convenience center. One looks like this: http://www.amazon.com/Homewerks-VAC-...flow+preventer It has a quick disconnect just like all my other water connections so it's just snap it in place and flush. I wouldn't operate without one, but I know some do.

X2. I just cut the existing pex tubing long enough to directly connect it to the hose fitting. Took about 20 minutes.

I took ours out and screwed in brass parts to connect the two pex lines together. Many ways to do it, but use a back flow outside the rig. John

Mine was leaking last year and I found that it was cracked. When I winterized the rig, I think I must have forgotten to blow out that line. I called the company and they sent me a new one.
