Surrounded by Montana's at Grizzly RV Resort

We are at Grizzly RV Park (Resort), thanks to all of the members who suggested this place, and we are surrounded by Montana's!!! There are at least 7 here but we have not met any of them and don't see any MOC bumper stickers. We haven't seen any of the owners around, they are probably in Yellowstone. So if you are here HOWDY! We are off to play in Yellowstone today and tomorrow we leave for Missoula and then Glacier!

We are leaving and heading to Yellowstone on Sunday 9th. We decided to stay outside of Yellowstone in Island Park, ID, they say they are 20 miles from the west gates of Yellowstone. Since we have 2 Newfies with us thought we might want to stay outside of the park just in case of some animals.

We have had a great time! We leave tomorrow. We stayed in Fishing Bridge when we first got here and spent a lot of time in the Hayden and Lamar Valleys. Then we transferred the rig to Grizzly RV Park to play around the west end a little. We saw 6 grizzlies in the first 4 days. We have seen 9 black bears (2 were mothers with cubs and two were right by the road), a nesting pair of great blue herons, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, a wolf, an osprey sitting in her nest, lots of bison, lots of elk, yellow bellied marmots, chipmunks, a swan, white pelicans, pronghorn, fox, and many others that I have forgotten. We are headed to Glacier National Park on Saturday. The park is totally full tonight.

As for dogs in the parks there are many people who take their dogs in but we do not. At Fishing Bridge they will not allow you to leave anything outside because it is a bear area. When we arrived they said they had 2 black bears they had to get the rangers to shoo away. There are also a lot of places they are not allowed to go and we do not like to leave them sitting in the trailer for long periods of time. Today we left the trailer at 10:15AM and we returned at 9:43PM. They do have people here who will come and walk your dogs for you. I miss our dogs but feel they are better at their animal lodge.
