Fireplace Installed

Our Montana didn't have the optional fireplace when we got it, and we decided we would like to have one. We ordered a 26" electric fireplace from West Furnishings. I installed oak fluted moldings with plinth blocks and and a small 1" thick mantel.
We really like the fireplace and it produces enough heat to take the morning and evening chill off the interior, and is also nice to just look at the flames.

Really like the Plinth blocks. Nice touch, not too much. Very classy, good job.

That fireplace looks great. Just how hard was it to install, my husband and I aren't real good at doing contruction? The cabinet that you installed the fireplace in was that where they have a real small storage area of around 6-8"? What was the price range on doing this, we were quoted a price of around $1,400 with fireplace.

Excellent job nailbender! That looks great. It looks like the same model I was looking to install in our 2955.

Debbie, The fireplace I got cost $375.00 and is from http://www.westfurnishings.com/elfiin1.htmlnd. I was wrong when I said it was 26" wide, it is 23" wide. The model number is 23FE005GAA.
The face frame has to be enlarged, wider and higher, and the back of the cabinet removed.
If you have some carpentry skills and tools, you could probably install it.
I would be glad to help you install it if you would like to come to Paradise some weekend, it is only about a 2 hr. trip and we have room for 2 trailers here.

That sounds wonderful, I'll have to check with my husband and see if he'd like to do that. We are leaving on the 14th of July for a Oregon vacation, so maybe when we get back we'll see how your plans are and get back with you. We have alot of tools and I do use most of them but when it comes to cutting up something I love I'm a little bit afraid of messing it up.

Wow, Nailbender, great job! We installed the same fireplace, bought at the same place you did (for the same price) last year. We love it!! I especially like the way you trimmed it.
