Simple Entry or Step Light
Added an entry light next to the steps. (actually I needed something to cover the holes from the factory awning foot.) Routed the wiring to the other side through the belly, then up through the furnace area, under the step, and up into the control panel in the hall with a new lighted switch. If you just run power to it, it can be switched using the lights own switch (I defeated it). For the factory awnings, the light can be mounted below the awning foot.
Also added this to my remote control system for entry.

Brad,
This is a great idea. I put this as a suggestion to Keystone to add an outside entry light that worked off of a photocell or motion switch but they didn't think they made a 12volt photocell or motion detector. Anyway, how does your remote control system work. I am interested. Where I am staying has no lighting and I am always fumbling in the dark to find the key. One time I fell over the fire pit because it was so dark. Should of claimed back injury.

5ER, those remote controls are great. Mine is different from what Brad has but works great. You pull up to your unit push a button and the outside lights come on push the button again and the inside lights come on. Same thing when leaving we leave all the lights on then turn them off after we get into the truck. They do a lot of other functions that are great also.

5er,
Remotes can get complicated or can stay as easy as you want. There is a simple automative remote control relay and key fob (for fog lights) that you can get at Wallmart or Pep Boys ($29). This can be used to turn on any outside light you want.
I've fallen in the fire pit a few times myself. My remote kicks on the step light, front utility light and scare lights, for those nights coming back from the lake and I need to back in with the boat.

Brad and Dennis, where do you mount the relay, I am assuming inside somewhere?

5ER, If you go with what Brad is talking about from Walmart you just mount the lights under the unit pointed in the direction you want. The relay can be mounted under the unit anywhere. It comes as a complete kit all you have to do is run 12 volts to it. Then the key chain remote will turn the lights on and off. The remotes that Brad and I have installed are major work. I can start my generator going down the road, put the slides in or out, raise or lower the jacks, turn on the fire place, inside neon light, ground effect lighting, out side as well as inside lights.

Dennis, I will have to go to W-Mart or a Parts store to see what is involved. I am only wanting to turn on a light or two. Your system does sound like some major work. Thanks for the info.

Brad, I to added a light just like you did, but put a second one up toward the front between the storage and propane doors, helps light up the area when you coming toward the Monty fron the front.
