New TV Woes

Rats! Shucks! Phooey! Etc!

My wife and I have been wanting to upgrade our TV to an F-350 Dually for some time now. We recently found one that was just about what we wanted. It is a 2004, 6.0L PSd, crew cab, long bed dually with a B&W turnover ball hitch installed. B&W also makes a companionh 5th wheel hitch that mounts in the turnover ball mount. So, we ordered one.

Installation was a breeze since we already owned a torque wrench. When we tried to hook up we found that we were unable to get the hitch to lock. My previous TV had a Pull-Rite Super Slider which means there was an extra plate welded on the bottom of the king pin box. this plate made the king pin ride too high to allow the locking jaws to close.

So, we had to order an NEW king pin box to match the NEW hitch in the almost NEW TV. Since Keystone has partnered with MOR-RYDE we decided to order the king pin box from them. It should be delivered within the next few hours.

Then we can drive back to Flagstaff, mount the pin box, hook up, and bring it home. I also had a combination tool-box/fuel tank mounted in the truck. We are looking forward to bring the trailer home since we are also planning a trip, next week, to Sacremento to see kin-folks. I hope the MOR-RYDE pin box works as advertised.

Congrats on your new tow vehicle! Nothing like a new truck to start out the holiday season. Enjoy!!!
