05/06 Ford F350 w/ towboss noise

A friend of mine has an 05 F350 Dually e/w with Towboss. He is experiencing a strange very loud noise when pulling up long grades. He says it is louder than a a turbo noise and occurs when his turbo pressure is around 30. He is pulling about 17K. No overheating or stalling. Just a loud noise and he describes it as sounding metallic. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. I am concerned as we have an 06 version of the same truck and tow about the same weight but we have had no problems so far. My friend has about 45k miles on his truck and we ahve about 9700 on ours but we have yet to experience any mountains as of yet. Ford has told him they can't figure it out either. Thanks

Hi
Can you describe the noise? Is it a rumble or catter sound?
If so it could be the torque convertor clutchs. This was common
in Fords a fews years back and may still be around. There are
products that you can add the trans oil to reduce or eliminate
the noise.
Ford, Amsoil, and Redline all have products.
