Stormy Weather...

Many of you know that we're on Monte's 1st Big Adventure. We've covered 19 states since we've left Southern California on June 24.

Living in SoCal we don't get to talk about the weather too much. It's always the same. But in the midwest it's a different story. For folks here dramatic weather is almost the norm.

We've been dry camping in my mother's backyard in South Dakota for a few days when we saw this storm approaching. As a photographer I grabbed my camera, got into my truck and tried to capture this storm.

Although my hometown was spared, the town just 12 miles north of us has some severe hail damage, including crops wiped out, broken windows and screens, and roof damage.

I hope you enjoy these dramatic photos.

And if you're so inclined, you can still follow us on our blog:

Great photos. Good to hear you got to see it but not experience it. One of the reasons we added a storm shelter to our RV home base.

Rainer,
Great photos! Those are some pretty dramatic pictures. Glad the storm didn't hit you but sorry for the folks that it did hit. HamRad

Our turn tonight, but so far no picture opportunities. Severe storm warning just came out a couple of minutes ago.

This is rural Kansas. We've been in there twice since we put it in. So far two near misses with only minor hail. Tonight just really heavy rain and some wind so far.

Where are you? We're in Dodge City tonight. We'll be heading west tomorrow morning, Durango, Colorado by Saturday, then from there back home to the San Diego area.
