Another Quest 3000 question
I remember reading about some setup changes with the quest 3000 unit but cannot find the thread. My manual only has 28 pages and is very limited. Before I toss this unit out I would like to give it a fair try as others have. Who makes this unit? Is there an on-line PDF version of their owners manual or a web site address for them to get one. Any help would be appreciated.

you can call keystone customer service and they have the no. I had the quest 2000 and called them and they replaced with 3000. I have no problems with it.

Helen used the manual that came with it and everything works perfect. No it is not a 1000.00 unit but it sounds OK..

The unit in my 2955RL performs well for what it was designed for. There are many settings that if not correct can affect performance of the player.

I am happy as a clam with my Quest. I think maybe the Quest was made to work with the Spruce Interior and does not sound as good with the other colors.

Don,
The Quest is a unit with lots of features, but too few clear instructions. It isn’t set up for the average user, right out of the box.
Even I, (no matter how much of a TV addict I may be,) had to sit down and truly read and obediently follow the instructions, just to make sure all my speakers were working. (I wonder how many people have been through the entire set of set-up procedures, and test procedures with those things.)
It has several features I don't even have on my new mid-level Sony home theater system. While the Sony is great, and I hope it endures longer than the two previous Quests I've had, I can't individually adjust the volume on each speaker...It has a microphone that automatically "listens" to the speakers during the course of an adjustment procedure, depending on where you want to have the sound centered. Personally, I'd rather be able to tune each speaker.
If I didn't have both Quests fail while I was simply trying to watch a DVD, I'd still have that set. It had auxiliary speaker outlets for the bedroom speakers, plus a separate output for my wireless headphone transmitter. With this Sony, I have to completely kill the speakers when inserting the headphone jack that I now have to use to drive the wireless headphone transmitter. With my hearing so bad, I either have to watch DVDs while no one else wants to listen, or watch without hearing everything, because I'd have to turn the volume up to ear-shattering levels for other people, just to allow me to hear it all!
There seems to be a group mania about Quest. It's a low-priced, fairly undocumented piece of equipment that may only exist, for all I know, thanks to the RV market. If people took more time to understand the features, I know a lot of the gripes about it would never see the light of day. But I do think the inability of it to play DVDs, (at least by my personal experience,) without stopping or blacking out would still cause it a lot of disrepute.
Steve

Steve - wireless speakers work great for us. We don't yet have the Quest but use the wireless speakers for the tv. Each can be adjusted individually. Works great in overcoming my hearing loss without blasting out Vicki's ears. Cost around $100 for a decent set. You also can get wireless headphones.
