Rear Stabilizers

Just finished a 7700 mile trip! At one point the rear stabilizers refused to retract. Power is going to motor, I can hear it "click". The only way to move rig was to disassemble them, tie up arms and not use for remainder of the trip. Anybody have experience with this? Motor seized up perhaps? Wondering if I order a new rear motor if my local handyman can do the work. Hate to pay repair shop hourly rate if it's an easy job. Thanks

Yes, the motor croaking due to water getting in where the wires enter the housing has happened to a number of folks and is the most likely cause of your problem. The motors are more than a bit pricy but can be replaced. You can also buy a bit, I carry one just in case, that you can use to raise or lower the stabilizer with a cordless drill.

Not to hijack the thread, but do they stop automatically when extending? Do they adjust for one side being higher on the ground (i.e. not even)?? Or do you have to use blocks to line them up better?
Thanks.

They don't stop automatically, but will auto adjust for one side higher than the other.

Bet the motor is full of water. Mine did that a bit over a month ago. Took the motor off, disassembled, drained the water off, buffed the armature, reassembled, sealed with epoxy and all good.
