Washer Dryer for 3400RL
I'm considering getting a vented, stackable washer and dryer by Splendide installed. Will the Ariston series fit into a 3400RL closet by the door? I'm thinking it will.

Yes, however on our 2007 3400 we had to change the cords to a right angle plug to allow clearance for the washer and dryer. Hopefully they changed the location where it is not directly on the left of the closet.

Thanks. I'll check on the plug location. Does the washer drain into the gray water tank? Does it use a lot of water? Is it obvious that I know nothing about this?

Our 3400 (keep in mind a previous model) did not drain into any tank. You can look under the trailer by the door to verify this, but we had to have full hook up to use the washer. Our new model (3750) is plumbed the same way, straight discharge to the sewer).

By straight to the drain do you mean it bypasses the black tank and all I need is a hose from the trailer into the sewer hole?

Yes that's correct, but you need to verify that. Ours, different model, dumps into our larger gray tank. Keystone's decision on that seems to be based on where the washer/dryer is located. Ours is in the front of the rig.
They don't use a ton of water, but a couple of loads and a few showers and I would have to dump if I wasn't hooked up with the valve open. If it goes in a tank it will always be a gray tank since leaving the black tank open will get you the pyramid of poop

That is correct based on my knowledge of the previous model 3400. As the ice cream guy says , verify this by looking under the rig, the plumbing from the washer was easily visible on ours. If it is plumbed the way ours was, then you are correct that you have to have a drain for the discharge to be routed to via the normal sewer hose hookup.

We put the Airston stackables in our 3400. It was tight but there was still room for them.

JMHO, but I'd think twice about the stackable model. With it you lose all the storage space above it, that you have with the single unit. We're on our second single unit and would not have anything else.

The stackables are larger, faster, ect but who is in any hurry. We chose not to give up the storage space in the W/D closet in the 06 3400 and installed 3 shelvs over the combo. They both do the wash and that is very handy when on the road.

We have the vented stackable. The DW loves it. The outlet is in the same place as the 2007 3400RL. You can move the outlet higher or use an angle plug as Bingo suggested.
