Husky 16K S hitch

A lady friend of ours has purchased a new fifth wheel and the dealer installed a Husky hitch. Is there any way to lock this hitch so that it can't be unhitched by passersby?

Charlie, I have the same hitch. Just make sure the lock has a longer shank and enough arch in it to clear the hitch. Saw one with a squared arch but couldn't find one in the stores when I needed it. Jim

Thanks for the replies. She wasn't sure, it's all new to her moving from a travel trailer to a fifthwheel and she's overwhelmed by all the new info. I even downloaded the owners manual for that hitch and saw no mention of a pin

Warning. She's probably gonna need a dedicated key ring for all the keys that go to all the locking possibilities. I haven't done anything about the locks and have a terrific habit of checking these things but I have a boatload of keys for other locks.

Another candidate for some kind of lock or hasp is where the hitch fastens to the bed rails. My Husky is removable for when I don't need it, but this also means someone could steal it if not locked down. Again, I don't lock this but know this is a possibility. Fortunately when we are towing and traveling we stay close to the rig and when not towing the hitch remains under a truck bed cover, hoping for out-of-sight then there's less risk.

The old addage......check it once ///check it twice///make sure its right and thne check it again....No matter where we stop, all the tiress and rims are checked for heat and pressures when it is time to head out again, everything is checked and confirmed as being in place and secure....its habit now and done without thinking ..
