trouble with kitchen water

The kitchen water won't work with the outside water source yet the bathroom water works fine. The kitchen water will work if the fresh water tank and pump is used. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Did it ever work with outside water source?

If so, what did you change since then?

It always worked before with city water all throughout the camper - now the kitchen only works with the pump going. Is it some type of valve that is not releasing when city water is used?

All valves would affect all systems not just kitchen. Again, what have you done lately that is different from when it last worked correctly?
Also, is it both hot and cold?
Do you have a built in water filter?

That's why it doesn't make any sense to me. It's both hot and cold that don't work in the kitchen and yet both the hot and cold work in the bathroom. We haven't done anything different lately, it's been sitting since we last used it.No built in water filter - we use one attached to the hydrant with a pressure valve.

You might want to check your screen on the kitchen faucet it may be clogged. Just unscrew at the faucet clean out, see if that works.

X2 on the screen on the faucet. Also if this is a faucet that pulls out check the flexible hose beneath the counter and see if it is kinked. I had this happen and restricted the flow significantly.

you by chance don't have the tank fill valve on tank fill do you?

With at least one, maybe two flow restrictors in the kitchen faucet assembly, it is possible that a piece of grit or other debris has plugged the small hole in one of the restrictors. You may have to take it all apart to clear whatever is stopping water flow.

the fill valve is off and when the pump is used both the cold and hot water lines work fine. I'll check faucet screen but it shouldn't work with the pump if the faucet or lines are plugged. Thanks for everybody's ideas - I'll try more out tomorrow.

It doesn't sound like a restriction in the faucet if it works with the pump. You may to pull the back wall out in the basement and look at the water lines to see what the problem is. I saw one that had kinked line but it didn't work with city or pump.

I had a TT that was rigged for going to places (like Mexico) that had questionable water. It was modified by the guy that owned it before me. In the mood for questionable water the valves were set such that the kitchen water ran from the FW tank and the rest of the TT ran from city water, e.g. toilet, shower, bathroom sink. Maybe those valves got switched either acidently or mistakenly.
