Adding a signature with make and model of Montana and truck would be helpful in having questions properly answered.

I'd start with that ... you'll then have to hook up and see where your setup sits. There's no "catch all" hole location as each rig and truck sits differently. That's what the adjustment holes are for on both your Q20 hitch and pin box. I as many of us have the Q20 ... you'll like it.

I agree with this. I have my Q24 set at the highest point but my truck sits low being a 4 x 2. Hook it up and see what you've got and adjust if necessary.

Even though i have the 3500 the bed rails are the same height between the 2500 and 3500, As my neighbor has a 2500 with a curt Q20 and when i owned my 2013 with standard rails both of us use used the top holes. The puck system in my 2017 the legs sit high and i now use the middle holes. you might have to move yours around because no two setups are the same but i would use the top holes first and that will give you around 6 inches between the fiver and the rails.

There is only one way to find the answer to your ?. You have to hook up your rig to your truck (on level ground) and see how level the camper rides. Like stated, I would set the hitch in its middle position at first and adjust it or the pin box up or down so the camper tows as level as possible.
