New to Montana
We are purchasing a used 2017 Montana 3820FK. We have always had travel trailers before but will be going on extended trips with the wife's work soon. The dealer called today stating the front AC was not working and would be replaced with a new unit. As I am a natural worry wart two things concern me, #1 why would anyone trade an almost new unit off and #2 why would it need a new AC unit so soon. We really like to looks of Montana and the floor plan is great for us, but I am a little concerned about the quality of Montana now. Should I be concerned?

Congratulations and welcome to this great forum. I would not worry about the unit. Our first Montana we traded in when it was 6 months old. We found it did not fit our needs. All makes of RV mostly use the same parts that go into a unit.

People get rid of units early because they don't use the unit, get sick, decide they like a different floorplan, don't like the RV lifestyle, financial issues, divorce, death, the list goes on and on. Congrats on the purchase. Keystone/ Montana does not make the AC, stuff fails. Maybe the original owner tried to run on 15Amps. Good your dealer discovered and is replacing for you.

Welcome to the forum! One thing to keep in mind here is that this is a place to come to get help when you have problems. You'll see problems here on a regular basis, but there are thousands of members not posting how great things are going for them. As far as the AC is concerned it's the same ones on most rigs including high end ones and things can happen. At our store we just bought a new ice cream machine and had both compressors go out in the first year. The company that builds them got a bad batch. It happens, it's just better when it happens to someone else.

Welcome to the forum. We bought our Montana after the first owner had it for less than 6 months because they found it was just too big for them to tow. It was really nice of them to take off the big sticker price for us...lol.
