New 2011 3400RL

Just took delivery on our new 2011 3400RL last week and we love it. We've been full timing it in our old Monty 3655FL and finally decided to "shoot the works". We've had it about one week now and everything is working fine. Not one problem - well, a screw is missing from one of the paddle fan blades but that's an easy fix.

I can say that towing this new unit with the MOR/Ryde package is a dream compared to the old Monty. The combination of the independent suspension, MOR/Ryde suspension, and MOR/Ryde pin box is just right. I really thought that my old Monty towed pretty well but I had nothing to compare it with...this is NICE...

More importantly, Betty is smiling and love living it it...Thanks, Keystone! And thanks to all the MOC folks who recommended the 3400!

Chief,
Keep an eye on the fan blade screws. Suggest some locktite. Other MOC members have had a blade fly off.
Oh yes, welcome home.

Thanks for the "welcome home" John - same to ya. I've already been to every light fixture in the house adding various "fixes" to avoid loosening during travel. I found both hanging lights over the bar very ready to fall off and one of the lights over the couch the same. I'll add locktite to the fan blades soon...thanks for the idea. Also, I just discovered the Norcold recall on the refer...my S/N on both the refer and the cooling unit. Back to the dealership tomorrow to have my old (brand new) Toyo tires from the '02 put on the new Monty (replacing the missions). while there I'll work on them about the Norcold recall. Thanks again...

When I arrived at the fall MOC rally it was warm and when I turned on the ceiling fan one blade was missing a screw. The blade flopped around like a fish out of water! I have always had a screw loose but this one was missing! Capn Chris came to the rescue with a good screw, if you know what I mean and we were back in business. Some of the others were a little loose. A few days later we found the missing screw in the carpet. So, we've blown a fan blade; didn't check to see if it was made in China! So when you torque your Ubolts , don't forget your fan blade screws!!!

Conrats guys! Many happy miles We have had ours for 6 years now. Everything still works and we look every now and then and still haven't seen any other fiver that we would consider over this one. Do your best to wear it out traveling.

WO,
As others here have said, Locktite on the screws for the fan blades. Another place for Locktite I found was on the screws for the T-Handles for the dump valves. I lost a screw last year, but fortunately didn't loose the handle. Congrats on the new rig and I am sure you will get many enjoyable adventures out of it!!!

Our fan blades have never fell off but other things have. Cabinet doors, molding, etc. You will have problems most of them hopefully minor. Keep a list of ALL problems and make sure they are addressed during the warranty period. We are nearly 5 years into heavy use of our 06 3400 and problems aside has served us well.
