Changing Tires

I am ready to replace the China bombs. I have read a lot about how to and how not to jack my Monty to take the tires off. Do most folks just take you rv to a tire store (where I figure some college kid just jambs a jack under the axle) or do you just take your own wheels off and take them to the tire store?

I take mine off. I get tires from Costco and there is not enough area to park the Monty by the tire shop.

I took mine to a truck store where I could drive it through the bay without unhitching, and they have the knowledge and heavy equipment to do it correctly...plus I stayed there and watched.

My Goodyears were bought at Sam's club (at a sizeable discount), then taken to Beaudry RV in Tucson for install. I would opt for a tire shop THAT DEALS WITH TRUCKS AND HEAVY TRAILERS. Many local tire shops have no knowledge of changing trailer tires, nor the room, most of the time........

For those who don't mind going a few miles out of the way, check out LonnieB. I believe it may pay you in the long run (no pun intended) to see what he has available in tires for our Montanas.

I take mine to a family owned and operated tire store. A place I have gone to for a long time. Good prices and they look things over good as they go.

Thanks for all the imput guys. I took my wheels off and went to Sam's and got 4 new BFG commercial tires put on. Repacked bearings while I had wheels off. About 700 bucks lighter but feel a lot safer.
