After the flood of the washing machine yesterday, the shower drained very very slowly. I could see an obstruction just below the drain hole and undid the connection in the basement and found a piece of white, soft rubber tubing about 6" long with about a one and a half inch hole on one end and two smaller holes in the other end.

I think that it is the shower drain back-flow preventer. The shower drain does not have a traditional p-trap, it has a soft rubber flapper tube that collapses flat on itself to help keep water from flowing back up into the shower pan. It should be right below the drain itself, did you find it somewhere else?

Thanks! I found it crumpled up right below the shower drain. the bathroom sink had some water in it, so I guess that valve worked as there wasn't any water in the shower pan.

Are there any after market antiflow preventers for the shower out there? I've never seen one at a dealer or RV store. My valve has a few small holes in it and I should replace it. Or, is it just a dealer Item
