??Fireplace Installation Question??
I’m installing an electric fireplace. Ever since I seen one in operation we’ve been hooked on how well they look. I found one which I removed from the cabinet and it is going to fit underneath the TV in the lower cabinet. I will be using the wood from the cabinet and framing the front for a finished look. However, I have a question…when I do this it will block all of the area in the front for air ventilation. The fan will need to be vented since it blows out in the front. One option I have is to cut a vent directly behind the TV which would allow for air circulation. There is a cover in behind where the fireplace is going which when I removed it, it revealed an open area about 2-3” from the wall. It seems to be an open space behind all of the cabinets but I’m not certain where all it’s open to.
Do you think this would allow adequate ventilation by just leaving this cover off and exposing the hole for an air return? I would rather not cut a vent in the area behind the tv.
