National Geographic Magazine

While poking around in some long forgotten "stuff" I found a National Geographic Magazine from November 1942. Of course this was still during war time and pretty well all pictures and articles were war related.

There were not a lot of advertisements in the magazine but one caught my eye and many will remember "Fairchild".

The magazine is certainly an interesting read after all these years. 1942 being my birth year made the find even more interesting, so I thought I would share it with you all.

I volunteered at Ft. Stanton NM 3 years ago. They had a collection of National Geographics starting in the 1930's. Amazing reading.

A few years back National Geographic had a set of DVD's of every issue since 1888. For those who like to read about days past as well as look at the accompaning photos ... the set is well worth purchasing.

When I was a young boy, I used to get a real thrill by looking at pictures in their magazines

You can now go to a topless beach and get the same thrill. Well, maybe not. It would be a much older thrill.
