HVAC work

This is a job I completed a few weeks ago.
We replaced hail-damaged condenser coil on a convenience store roof. I had the coil hoisted up by my sign truck guy.
The young man is the guy that is taking over my business in less than a year. I am training him for HVAC and electrical. He has been to school, but has much to learn. He's a smart, capable honest guy, so it should work out fine.

Yepper! she is still chugging along.
I look at it like this, as some predict a terrorist EMT blast, I can still chug along, nothing electronic on it!

OZZ, here's what constant salt air will do to condenser coils. These are on the roof of the hotel (1st floor roof). Quite a mess. Aaon units btw. I had never seen this brand before; out of Longview, TX and Tulsa, OK.

Wal-Mart uses Aaon, Corner Cafe, a big customer I had, went to them. Slick unit, well designed and good to service, but parts and support was a nightmare.
Down on padre Island I looked at a few units that were severly damaged by the salt. Short lifespan there.

My nephew in Dallas says he services the units on Target stores also. I've been snooping around some; they have four large units at the hotel, strictly for the hallways. First units I had ever seen with hot gas bypass. I'm told they mix outside air, and use the hot gas to de-humidify it. Is that what is called "economizers"? Sure don't make sense to me, as the hotel sits about 50' from Aransas Bay. Every once in a while, one of the units will go crazy, and there is water everywhere from the humid air.

They use GE units for the rooms. I've seen some of them that the compressors completely rusted through the bottom on; especially the rooms on the bay side.
