Dresser drawer glides/runners

Our dresser drawers keep falling off the tracks. Has anyone replaced the runners or come up with some other fix for this?

This forum is the best place I have found to get real usful information. Although my dealer has been better than expected, he relies on his factory rep for info, etc. They don't always have the same agenda as we do.

I have not had the problem, but it sounds as though the track is not installed either at the right width or secure. Check to make sure it is not loose in its opening.

Take the drawers out and look inside and see if the rear supporting wood is not loose or broken. That happened to us on our 2003 Montana. I had to reinforce the rear supports so the tracks were stable. Most of the 1 inch wood supports were full of knots and broke. Hven't had that problem so far on the new one.

We have the same problem with the third draw down under the TV.
Going to have it checked.

I have the same problem with the third drawer under the tv and on investigation found that the horizontal support for that drawer's set of runners only had one screw holding it to the wall. It was in the center allowing the support to rotate which caused the drawer to bind. Adding another screw should fix that problem.

We haven't had the problem with dresser drawers. However, we have replaced the slides on one of the desk drawers with full-extension ball-bearing slides. The dealer also replaced the slides on the large drawer under the refrigerator with ball-bearing slides.

One good-quality slide is made by Accuride. The shortest one listed in one catalog I have is 10", though. The dresser drawers on our Montana are pretty short, front to back, and I don't know if a 10" slide would work or not. If they will fit, a full-extension slide makes it a lot easier to access the entire drawer than the partial-extension slides that Keystone installs.
