Hensley Air ride Hitch

Anyone towing with the Air Ride Hitch (Hensley Brand) along with the 5th Airborne pin box? Thinking about upgrading my hitch but not sure if the gain would be worth the cost. Seems I read that someone had done this and if I remember correctly that said it was the ultimate in ride towing a fiver. But my mind has been known to play tricks on me from time to time......

Any help would be appreciated.

Dave

Dave, most who I have talked with who have a engineering background recommend one or the other but not both working together. The argument is they tend to work against each other instead of with each other.

I have a air ride hitch with a standard pin and I would never go back to a standard hitch. Love the air ride hitch.

Dave,

We have the TSLB2H Air Ride Hitch for Medium Duty Trucks installed on Bigboomer. Along with the Mor-Ryde pin box the combo can't be beat....the pin box prevents the herky jerky motion when stopping and starting and the hitch with the in-cab adjustment allows me to adjust the ride depending on the conditions. If towing with a MDT or HDT you should not use any other hitch as the rear springs/ bags on these trucks are too stiff and will shake your 5'er to death!

The cost installed for the hitch on our truck was $3,500.

Hope this helps.

Les

We have the BD3 hitch with Mor-Ryde pin box and the combination delivers a very smooth ride. It eliminated the clunking that we used to get with our previous setup. Most time you hardly realize you are towing anything.

X2 for us...love how it pulls and the ride is much smoother with no chucking.

I have the Hensley and would not have any other hitch. The roads here in Iowa are terrible and it sure makes it ride better.

I'm with Hazmic. I also have the Hensley hitch and would never tow a fifth wheel without it. You don't need all the stuff designed for the pin on the rv.

Thank you everyone. I have a good ride now with the 5th Airborne pin box, but was hoping to make it even better. Some of the concrete roads on the interstate has some nasty expansion cuts in them and after time they seem to become a launch. Wish now that I would have just went with the Hensley Hitch. Someday down the road I will make the plunge on the hitch. Thanks everyone!
