Good Mileage for me
I just returned a week or so ago from a 700+ mile trip and averaged 11.4 mpg. For me that is pretty good.

Mike,
That is a good realistic figure. I get about 10 to 11 MPG in my 450. The 450 has the same 7.3 as your rig.

That was around what I regularly got on the 2002 F250 I had. Oh for the good ol' days.

That is acceptable MPG and better than our 08 F-350 6.4L. When we pulled into our winter site in Florida after 1200 miles the MPG O meter said 10.4 MPG and that is about average. It may do a bit better on a nice level interstate at 60/62 MPH in perfect weather conditions. I have no complaints about MPG on this big heavy Ford and the loaded 3400.

Great mileage for a big truck. I am running a 2003, 2500 Dodge and can sometimes get those type of numbers when I keep my foot out of it. We travel from the Ohio to Seattle every other year and you got get around 600 miles a day so getting your foot out of it on those trips is hard to do. Jon

Sounds good to me, we just finished 4600+ miles and we averaged 11.34, a 2500 Dodge pulling a 3400RL at 68 to 72 mph ( I have h rated tires on the 3400).

I might could do that if I could keep it below 65. Just hard for me to do. And the DW!! I have to keep reminding her that she is regularly creeping up over 70. At or near 70, I get a little over 10.

With my 04 F350 6.0 PSD I average around 10-11 towing. Just wish diesel prices this summer were like they are now.

Put 7500 miles on my 03 Dodge 2500HD, CTD this past Aug and Sept. Fort Worth to Mt Rushmore, Cody,Wy., Glacier Nlt Pk, Yellowstone Ntl Pk, Wy., Jackson Hole, Wy., Rocky Mountain Ntl Pk., Santa Fe, Nm., then down to South Padre Island, Tx. Average for entire trip was 13.9 towing a 3075RL. Kept speed at 60 on speedometer but gps said 58 mph. Averaged $4.28 a gallon for the trip. $2.79 a gallon here in Mansfield today. Just 46,500 miles on the Dodge, I'm happy!!

I haven’t towed anywhere with the F-350 other than one test run which was about an 80 mile round trip. From what I could tell I expect to get about 9-10 MPG when towing. If I get that I will be a happy camper; since I’ve only gotten about 6-7 MPG while towing in the past.

Just returned from 2186 mile trip...12.9 MPG actual, '06 2500 Dodge pulling 3000RK. Worthless computer showed 14.6. Drove at 60 mph, no faster.

Perhaps the reason we got such good mpg was because we have only had our Monty since August and so she is not fully loaded. I have the pleasure of having several empty overhead storage cabinets.
I do believe there is also over 55,000 miles on the truck. Seems the more he drives the better the mpg gets (only if on open road). In town the mpg is the pits!!
So, gentlemen, perhaps the comparison is not totally fair i.e. where the weight of the trailer would have an effect on the mpg. Sorry
