Water Filtration - Montana Owners Club

We are looking to install a water filtration system on the coach as the water in the area we are staying in right now has heavy iron content and is not the best water quality overall.

If we have to we will install both a reverse osmosis system under the sink and then a inline whole house filer on the line coming in. We have a washer/ dryer so we do use some amount of water.

Any recommendations on systems you use? Does anyone have a single unit that takes care of everything? I noticed CW has the Everclear system, anyone have this and does it remove rust?

We installed the osmosis system and it gives us bottled water quality. Used it now for 4 years.
It will only give you water in one location not the whole unit.

We use a two filter system with a particle filter and a charcoal filter and then a "on the go" water softener before the water gets into the rig. If there is heavy iron in the water we have a product to add to the softener to help it out. So far we are very happy with the results.

I also use two filters and a softener before water enters the rig. One of the filters used is cermamic and is good for 12 months it can be taken apart cleaned and reassembled. It depends how nasty the water is as to how often it needs to be cleaned. Some times as often as every two or three days other times every week or two. It works well for us.

Orv, in googling for some info I did see Rick's website and sent him the parameters. Waiting for his response as to what we may need to go with. I must say there are lots of different options, some really cheap and some really expensive.

Here is a link to the dual canister water filtration system I bought from the Water Filter Store. Rick was a great help there. The first canister is a particulate filter and the 2nd is a carbon block. There does not seem to be any slow down of the water flow at all and there is zero smell or taste. Great system.

Rick's the man. That's were we got everything from Regulator to hoses to filters. The only part of the system that isn't his is the brass quick disconnects.

I recieved a note back from Rick and he certainly knows his stuff!

Thanks to all for the advise and info and thanks to Trlrboy for some nice install techs.

Hopefully in the near future I will post some pics of the final outcome and install as well.

Here's one more thing we do. I went to the hardware store and got some brass quick disconnects and put them on both the water filters (their tied together and in their own holder) and the water softener and on the hoses that I use. That way we can put the whole system out or just parts depending on the water quality where we are and how long we plan on staying.

Well, finally was able to upload the pictures of the new filter system I installed several weeks ago...

Happy to report that so far so go. Everything is still in order and working fine and can say that what a major difference in the water quality it has made for us....

Here is how we have the filters set-up:
Cannister #1 – 1 micron sediment, Cannister # 2 – Birm-BB (removes iron), Cannister # 3 - CFBC-10BB (carbon block).
