Built-in electric heater
I thought I would revive this thread since Winter is upon us, some of you might get tired of kicking over the portable heaters, I know I did. If you can't do the job, you might be able to hire someone to do it for you.
http://tinyurl.com/26dcend
I decided I would build in a heater, just more convenient.
Got it at Granger's, plywood at Lowe's, Vinyl at Walmart.
I moved the outlet I installed above the vacuum, (off the vacuum circuit) to the left of the vacuum. I pulled a wire from the breaker box to the heater so I could stay on it's own circuit.
I don't worry about leaving the heater on while we are in bed, it has it's own safety's.

I like that too. Is that an thermostat built into heater or do you have one on the wall?

Thanks, guys.
On the thermostat, it is built in, that knob is the thermostat. It kicks out some serious heat when on high.
The fan is real quiet also.

separate breaker for it? 15amp? Nice location for it, looks like. No clearance issues?
I have that hamper basket inside the second step up...I took it out, and was thinking about putting such a heater in there, shooting across the living room.
Nice job !

Thanks Dick and Bill, yes Bill, I followed the guidelines for a safe install, the air cavity around the inside of the metal housing is good, plus a little clearance on the outer metal case. Your idea sounds good, if the clearances meet specs.
Remember heat rises, so put it where you need heat. It won't shoot far before rising.

Nice work Ozz. Who better to install supplemental heating in the Monty than an HVAC specialist .

I always showed DW your installs. We were talking about the forum the other day (when I posted the picture of the train horns); I mentioned you, and she says, "that's the guy with the chain saw to the side of his Montana isn't it"?
