Loosey-goosey?
Well, I can't help with that, but if your steering feels funky, your steering stabilizer may need replacing.
I felt mine did, so I changed it out.

If you have a Ford it will be most noticeble. When they go bad on Fords you will get the shimmey shakes sometimes when you hit a bump. I have had it shake so violent in the steering wheel I had a heck of a time hanging on to it. Change stabilizer and wah la no more shimmey shakes. Our work trucks at Verizon where mainly Fords and was a common problem. Never did it as bad on the Chevys and Dodges we had.

Jay, it really made a difference, super improvement.
Tom, I have 62K on it, but what wore it out were the 3 month's of BLM roads, trails and rocky dry creek-beds I took it on when in the Sonoran Desert, I went places only Jeeps were going, as a matter of fact, I drove 20 miles over mountains, up creek beds and rescued a Jeep that was high centered on a rock with my truck. That rascal will do some off-roading..

Here is that Jeep trip.
It's fun taking a convoy of brave people way out in the mountains, we bring the small grill, cook burglers and dogs, and enjoy the wildlife and quiet.
The roads and trails are so bad, sometimes we have to rebuild them as we go.
