Has anyone had water drip from under the front cap. Not sure if it is just moisture or if I have a leak..Need to reset the date on the camera..

Hmmm. Your floorplan shows the washer/dryer connections by the entry door. So, water couldn't be leaking from the connections. If you have an extended warranty, I recommend you have a Montana dealer take a look. You don't want an errant water source rotting parts of the wardrobe.

I would climb up on the roof and closely check all the seams, also the side seams for a gap water could be getting into. My money would be on a weather leak.

The last three winters while in SC we had a lot of freezing weather. We had the same issues on our 08 340RLQ Big Sky. There is very little insulation inside the front cap. he humid air from inside the rig works its way through the front closet and condenses on the inside of the cap. We had the same problem with ours and as long as cold weather hung around we had water down there. As soon as the freezing weather went away the dripping water stopped. The service center pulled my front cap and checked that all out and found no leaks. I check the rig every few days and so far no water drips. Because we are not using it at the moment and it is unheated.

Thanks for all the info.. it looks like it is going to rain tomorrow night.. If I have water in the same spots I will know it is getting in somewhere.. I check the roof and down the sides.. could not see where the caulk was bad.. It has been cold the last few nights, so I am hoping it is just moisture on the inside of the front cap..and not getting inside the Monty.. Will check the washer and closet area tomorrow and see if I can see any moisture damage.. I know it is not the washer hookup because I put caps on the supply lines under the bedroom sink..

I checked my roof seam when ours leaked this past spring, it had several cracks in the caulk along the cap. I used a roll of eterna bond and have not had a problem since.

Just checked for a leak in the front cap.. It rained most of the night last night.. and no leaks.. I guess it is moisture collecting in the front cap during cold weather.. Not sure what can be done about it. Maybe some type of vent at the bottom.. but it would be better to have one at the top to let the warm air out..
It is going to be 32 tomorrow in the a.m. Will have to check and see if I have water dripping from the seam..

Dave is pretty sharp,
For the vents, if you do need them, I would just put one on each side of the cap, under the overhang. That should offer circulation. Order two of those battery vents you have in the sidewall.

I would still eterna bond the seams on the front, or better yet do the whole roof and then still pull the clearance lights and silicone the backs of them. At least it would be the process of elimination. That looked like a lot of water to just be condensation. But then pics are deceiving. Once I get my new trailer home next week that will be the first thing I do, the eterna bond is ordered.

If I do add a couple of vents at the bottom of the cap, how much air would be going up thru vents when towing the Monty at 60mph?? Not sure what this would do inside the front cap.. Might be able to find a couple of small vents that could be closed when towing..

Either way you would be fine I would think, the air should be blowing horizontally on the vents, I wouldn't think that would pressurize the cap.

Ozz... I just thought of a better idea..Do not know why I did not think of this before.. would not have to worry about moisture in the cap.. Always park the Monty where it never gets below 60 degrees...
Thanks everyone for all the help..

Just in case it isn't the type of moisture problem that you surmized, I suggest that if you have an antenna on the roof near the cap, check everything around that. I had a problem like that where the coax came in. Rain/water would come down it and make a mess...JB

Thanks Ozz...
deadeye... had that problem a couple of years ago.. It had rained most of the night.. the DW and I got out of bed.. not early for sure.. Made coffee and had breakfast.. Then went into make the bed.. and right below the antenna was a big wet spot.. looks like someone poured about 2 cups of water on the bed.. it then rained for the next couple of days.. and no water on the bed.. I resealed the antenna cable.. no problems since then.. but will be sure to check it again tomorrow...

lfw..
