Quality Control & Design Flaws

We have had problems with our Big Sky, but they have been addressed, out of warranty, by Keystone. We may have experienced some design flaws but at least they haven't been an oops!

Here we are, in St. Augustine, FL, set up next to a Bighorn. Look at the decals that flow into the window!

Michael maybe Kat can do some fabricating and fill that window in for them!

Our TT had decals that went right over the windows. At times it was annoying, but whenever I'd see another just like ours it had the decals running right over the windows in the same place.

My point is that someone didn't think things out completely. The window, or the graphics, should have been moved so that they did not overlay one another. Just seems shoddy engineering to me.

While shopping for our fifth wheel about two years ago, we really liked the Open Range brand. Once we were inside the trailer, DW noticed some of the decals were installed over the window. Kind of a weird feeling looking out. Made us feel the decals were not planned out very well and we thought what else was not planned well. Felt the Montana was the best buy for us with the price range we were in.

We were parked next to an Open Range with graphics that extended over several windows, including the window in the entry door, last summer at a campground in Texas. The owner said initially he thought the "over the window" thing wouldn't bother him too much, but that after traveling and living in the rig for 3 months, that design was driving him and his wife crazy. He was considering removing the parts of the graphics that extended into the window area.

Agree with you...does look more "by accident than by design."

Our feeling on our TT was the same. We thought the graphics looked great when we bought it, but didn't like them in our "view" all the time once we used it. We were afraid to do anything with them since if we sold, and we did, the broken lines etc would distract from it's appearance. Since we plan on wearing out the Monty, if I had clouds on my window I'd be turning it into a cloudless day!

Our neighbours TT, a Denalli, at the lake has decals that continue over some of their windows. Even their large dining room window has a large swooping part of the decal on it. We think it's pretty strange and it would definately drive us nuts, just not sure what the manufacturer was thinking?

It is a very well thought out solution to a very daunting engineering problem that has been well documented in many forums and covers many brands of rv's. The decal placement on the windows prevent the start of peeling graphic syndrome!! It is the only part on the rig that the glue holds well enough. Just my rambling thoughts as usual!!

So, Bingo, graphics will peel off the rest of the Rig, but the section on the windows will still be there. Interesting concept. When we were looking, we too some units with the graphics extending onto the windows and just thought in general that it was weird. I guess if it covered the entire window and was made like those you see in the back windows of pick-ups so it acted as a sun screen it might not be so bad, but as there are, no thank you.

I kinda prefer that my windows are able to be looked out of - skip putting decals on them. It's not like they put them on the bottom half (unless the window is raised and I can't tell. Looks like bad planning for decal placement whatever it's supposed to be.

Personally I think the decals should stay off the windows. Since my rig is so old and the decals are placed on the big white parts of the siding, I guess we were lucky.

How come they weren't continued on the refrigerator vent panel? This is so inconsistent.

Maybe Kat should just paint the rest of the window white to match the siding and this won't even have to look like a window. Who needs to look out of it anyway? Let's hope it's the window for the "water closet".
